Amantea will compete on Friday at Hilltop Speedway in Millersburg and on Saturday at Wayne County Speedway in Orrville. It will mark his debut at both dirt ovals.
“It’s the first time back in the 410 since February,” he said. “I learned quite a bit about racing a 410 and how the cars need to be driven. I think we have a good starting spot so I’m super excited for this weekend.”
Amantea captured a career-best fourth-place finish with the BOSS Series last October during one of a handful of 410 non-wing sprint car starts. His team aims to run approximately a dozen races with the BOSS Series this year, beginning with the two shows this weekend.
“Our goal with the BOSS Series is a top five every night and we’d like to go after a win,” he said. “Podiums and top fives and to be in contention each night is the focus.
“It’ll be nice to get back in the 410. We’re running more 410 stuff and that’s the future for us so it’s important to learn and get seat time as often as we can in the 410.”
Last weekend’s races with the Rapid Tire USAC East Coast Sprint Cars were both rained out, marking the third and fourth races in April to succumb to rain.
